Since completing his degree he’s acquired multiple coaching certifications including a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) as well as a Certified Physical Preparation Specialist (CPPS).

Since 2003, Tommy has had the opportunity to gain training experience in multiple fitness settings, including large public gyms, sports performance clubs and training facilities, high school strength and conditioning, exercise science lab, and a private training facilities. While navigating through the fitness industry he’s represented a number of professional roles including, personal trainer, strength coach, exercise physiologist, consultant, and currently fitness business owner.

Since 2010 Tommy has been running his own private fitness business, Donovan’s Strength and Conditioning. At DSC Tommy manages the day to day operations, including running group strength and conditioning classes for adult and athlete populations, staff development, and personal training. In addition to the daily operations, he also works as a consultant, educator, and team strength coach for multiple area sports clubs and teams.

His professional interests are devoted to maximizing training results with minimalist methods, athlete performance, and advancing the fitness industry through trainer development and education.

When he’s not at the gym or in the office you can find him in the outdoors. His hobbies include hiking, kayaking, hunting, shooting sports, and mountain biking.
